The East Midlands Airport (EMA) is located in central England, 13 miles (21kms) southwest of Nottingham, 11 miles (18kms) southeast of Derby and 19 miles (30.5kms) northwest of Leicester.
I"ve been catching business-related flights out of East Midlands airport for years now. Since I first commenced travelling intensively, it seems like I need a considerably amount of more time waiting around in the terminal building and going through security and customs. When I realised I could at last cut some precious time off my travelling by securing my parking space online, I was truly happy.
It"s taken me quite some time of trial and error, but I"ve experienced all levels of services which are available at East Midlands Airport and I can say to myself that I"ve become somewhat of an expert on the topic.
Whatever everybody might say, the majority of the car parking agencies offer similar perks with exception of their prices, locations and frequency of transfer services. The parking sites at and around East Midlands airport in general provide good services, easy check-in and outstanding security.
The airport which only operates from one terminal provides short, medium and long-duration parking. Short-stay parking spaces are located close to the terminal building and rates can be paid by credit card at a few pay stations. Within walking distance of the terminal you can find the medium term car parking site (up to four days) which also operates a free and frequent shuttle transportation service to and from the terminal. The long-term car parking amenity is situated a short walk from the airport grounds and is linked to the terminal building by free transfer service. Booking in advance online at a long-term parking facility can reduce costs significantly.
Personally I am a fan of Nottingham East Midlands Airparks but I also can recommend the East Midlands on site car parking. Both parking sites are conveniently located nearby the airport terminal. The on site parking amenity offers short, medium and long-stay parking spaces which can be booked through the internet. East Midlands Airparks Services is positioned within a short distance from the airport complex. Once you arrive at the site you have to drive to the arrival bays which you will find outside the reception. You give them your printed confirmation and car keys. Staff will park your vehicle while you will be transferred to the terminal. On your return from your trip you"ll have to phone Airparks once you have collected your luggage. When you arrive back again at the car parking site give the card they gave you on check in, and the car keys will be handed over to you.
I had the option to check out a couple of different ways of parking, but I am pretty sure these websites mentioned below can offer you the easiest and most rapid means of arranging your parking space at East Midlands Airport. I travel two monthly times out of Nottingham and have tried these several times.

The secret: Money Savings Tips for Travelers
Traveling can be a lot of fun as individuals or as a family. With the rising costs of gas prices, many of us stay close to home rather than traveling long distances to vacation hot spots.
I have been the marketing manager for a resort property for over 11 years. My primary responsibility is to market this establishment to attract new guests to stay with us as well as to entice repeat guests to join us again for another great getaway.
Many of us would love to enjoy a vacation but simply are not able to afford the cost for a room. I have listed a few ways to cut the costs and enjoy a much needed getaway for a fraction of the cost.
Coupons - Many motels participate in programs where you can receive two nights for the price of one night. Ask about these discounts when making your reservation. Check the motel"s website prior to calling to see if there are any specials listed online that must be mentioned prior to receiving the discount.
Corporate Rate - You can often receive an additional 10% off just for presenting your business card at a motel. Of course this depends on whether or not you are arriving during their peak season, but it certainly is worth asking about.
Military Discount - Some establishments will give a considerable price break for those serving in the military. You will need to present proper identification upon check-in so be prepared to do so.
AARP - Are you a senior citizen and a member of AARP? You are eligible for an additional 10% off your room rate at all participating motels.
Group Rates - Motels love groups and it is important to ask if there are any group rates available during the time you intend to arrive. If you are arriving during a time when the establishment does not intend to have occupancy, they may graciously extend a discount for your group. Certain requirements will apply and will vary.
Travel Midweek - It"s typical for motels to be very busy on the weekends and slower during the middle of the week. Try to travel Sunday - Thursday to receive the best deals. The rates are usually lower during the middle of the week. Combine this with a coupon or other discount and you are well on your way to savings.
Off-Season Specials - Check the local newspapers and travel websites for any specials the motel may be offering. Depending upon the location of the motel, you can get a great discount! For instance, take in a winter storm at the beach and you are certain to get a spectacular deal!
Mailing List - If you enjoyed your stay, ask the front desk if they have a mailing list. Perhaps they can mail you unadvertised specials or keep you posted of any savings coupons they may be offering. Traveling doesn"t always have to break our pocketbook. If you take a moment to do your research prior to making your reservation, you will be well on your way to saving yourself some money.

The 10 Most Beautiful Beaches In Australia
Australia, the world’s largest island, has some of the best surfing beaches to be found anywhere. Here, visiting the beach is as much a social experience as an opportunity for relaxation and water sports, since the beach is integral to Australian culture. While there will always be disagreement over which of the thousands of beaches are the best, the following selection represents a variety of urban and regional surf beaches that are popular with both surfers and those looking for a fun day on the beach.
Noosa Heads, in Queensland, is one of Australia’s best family beaches. Facing north, it is more like an ocean cul-de-sac, with generally gentler surf conditions than might be found on the more open beaches. Just behind the beach is the famous Hastings Street shopping strip. High fashion boutiques, art galleries, and trendy restaurants run along its shopper-friendly pavements, shaded by lush, leafy trees.
The Gold Coast’s Burleigh Heads is famous for its pine tree backdrop and great point break surf. The famous Burleigh Barrel, a power-packed tube loved by all surfers is driven by solid swells and prevailing SE winds. Burleigh’s shopping precinct just off the beach is a quiet and eclectic collection of shops and cafes.
Byron Bay, in northern New South Wales, is considered Australia’s alternative lifestyle capital. The trendy town centre, boasting top-quality eateries and pubs, is fronted by a superb beach. The lack of high-rise development adds to the clean, laid-back appeal of this pristine location. Close to the beach strip are subtropical rainforests and national parks that you can easily visit.
On Sydney’s northern coastline, Palm Beach is noted as a residential suburb for the wealthy as much as for its surf beach. Situated on a peninsula, the beach has stunning Pacific Ocean front expanses with a variety of swells, and there are gentler waters on the west of the peninsular at Pittwater. Surrounding bushland adds to the feeling of genteel serenity.
Australia’s most famous beach, Sydney’s Bondi Beach, is where Australian beach culture originated. This stunning beach, bounded by rocky points at either end, abuts a vast promenade with a distinctively old world charm. Its wide stretch of sand is dominated by the grand old Bondi Pavilion, built in 1928. Campbell Parade, running parallel to the beach, is a people watcher’s delight.
Two hours’ drive south of Sydney is Kiama, where the beautiful Surf Beach offers a deep beachfront of pure white sand, gentle incoming waves, and an open park with cooking facilities and picnic areas. The beach is popular with families, and many visitors come to view the breath-taking Kiama Blowhole nearby.
At Portsea, in Victoria, Melbourne’s wealthy come to retire for a summer respite. Set on the western-most point of the sweeping Mornington Peninsula, Portsea boasts a fascinating, rugged ocean front beach as well as a quieter bay beach nearby. Stark rock formations, shaped by the area’s often savage winds, feature prominently around the beach landscapes. The tiny village has a feel of understated exclusivity.
Many would claim Bells Beach as Australia’s best board surfing beach. Located 100 km south west of Melbourne along the majestic Great Ocean Road, Bells is a largely untouched ocean beach with almost never-ending swells undulating across deep blue water. The beach ends abruptly with soaring cliffs of yellow and orange clay. Designated a state reserve, its unspoiled status is assured.
Margaret River, in Australia’s south west, is virtually unrivalled for the quality of its waves. The clear, open water swells and forms some of the world’s best and most consistent board and body catches. Dazzling views across the mighty river and its mouth as it spills into the Indian Ocean are plentiful. Margaret River township is a mellow precinct dotted with great cafes and art galleries.
Perth’s Cottesloe Beach is understandably that city’s pride and joy. The now ritzy suburb, just outside Perth CBD, affords unbeatable views across the ocean to gorgeous Rottnest Island. The westerly-facing beach, part of a long strip, is a fantastic place to watch the sun set on another day. The stately old surf club and restaurant provides a regal focal point.

Nascar Tickets - the Rise of the Stock Car Evolution
The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) will be completing 60 years this December, when the first meeting was organized all those years ago by Bill France Sr., to discuss problems faced by stock car racing. From that first humble meeting, NASCAR has become one of the most popular spectator sports in the world. No one present in that meeting could ever have dreamed that NASCAR would turn out to become what it is today!
The Stock Car Evolution
The first race under the aegis of NASCAR was held on February 15, 1948 at Daytona Beach. This was the post WWII era. Obviously, there was a shortage of new cars. Most people were driving pre-war models, which were in a rattletrap condition, to say the least. The cars were ‘modified,’ which consisted of merely tweaking and tuning the engine.
Ropes sufficed as seat belts, and the more colorful drivers used aircraft harnesses. Roll bars, which have been mandated since 1952, were not in use during those early years.
The ‘stock car’ designation was strictly enforced and brought cars from diverse manufacturers, such as Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler, Ford, Hudson, Kaiser, Lincoln, Mercury and Oldsmobile. One of the greatest problems was the failure of the wheels and the suspensions, as the racing surfaces were rough, dirt tracks.
As stock car racing gained popularity, there was fierce competition, and this made modifications necessary. Many modifications were brought in, in the interest of safety, and many special ‘high performance’ parts found there way into the mainstream models. This enabled these ‘special’ parts to be used in NASCAR racing. The first special production was that of ‘racing tires,’ which in 1952, were manufactured and distributed by Pure Oil Company.
This made quite a change from the normal ‘street’ tires. Development in tires continued, with both Firestone, and Goodyear – to some degree – took keen interest. Such developments were necessitated by increase in car speeds.
In 1952, two-way radios were used for the first time in a NASCAR race, and today it is a vital piece of equipment. Faced with a spate of hubs, axles, and suspension failures, the Oldsmobile, Lincoln and Hudson car companies introduced usage kits, in 1953.
In those early times, racing drivers did not stick to one particular model, or even make. They fairly jumped from one model, or make, to another, depending on what car or model they thought was suitable for their needs.
Today, the cars and the tracks used in NASCAR racing are a far cry from what they were all those five and six decades ago, when there were ‘true’ stock cars, racing on rough and dirt tracks.
The Tickets
The NASCAR race calendar is always full, and its fans all over the country eagerly look to purchase NASCAR tickets for the races of their choice.
Your best option to lay your hands on your choice of NASCAR tickets is through legitimate and professional ticket brokers. Competent ticket brokers have the resources to arrange to procure your NASCAR tickets for you, and have them delivered to your doorstep.

See How Easily You Can The History of College Basketball Tickets
The Canadian, Dr. James Naismith, a physical education instructor, while at the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA, invented the game of basketball, in 1891. The following year, in 1892, he put together the rules of the game, and the first game of college basketball involved 18 players from YMCA, Springfield, who split into two teams of nine each. This was in 1893.
The first recorded instance when a basketball game involved at least one college team was between Geneva College and New Brighton, YMCA, on April 8, 1893, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, which Geneva College won. Geneva College calls itself ‘The Birthplace of College Basketball.’
It was on February 9, 1895, that two basketball teams from two different colleges - Minnesota State School of Agriculture, and the Porkers of Hamline College - played the first college basketball game. Minnesota won 9-3. Naismith’s original ‘peach basket’ rules were in force, and had nine players to each side.
The Modern College Basketball Games
The very first five to a side college basketball game was between the University of Chicago and the University of Iowa, played in Iowa City, Iowa on January 18, 1896. Chicago won 15-12. The first inter-collegiate basketball game was between Wesleyan University and Yale in New Haven, Connecticut, which Wesleyan won 4-3.
By the 1900s, many colleges all over the United States were fielding basketball teams. By 1906, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) was formed in Chicago, and the first tournament of the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Championship was held in 1939 at Evanston, Illinois in front of an audience of 5,500 fans. Oregon took the first National Championship by beating Ohio State – 46 to 33. That was the only time Oregon has ever reached the finals of this tournament.
In 1940, the first televised college basketball games were played at the Madison Square Garden. Since then, there has been no end to the popularity of college basketball.
March Madness
NCAA’s Men’s Division I Basketball Championship is colloquially known as the March Madness, as the tournament is mostly held in March, each year. It is also called so as it ignites such frenzy among the followers of college basketball. This single elimination tournament takes place over a three-week period across the United States, and features 65 college basketball teams.
The term March Madness now refers to both - the men’s and women’s tournament. Traditionally, the semifinals and the finals of the Men’s championship is played on a Saturday and the following Monday, whereas the Women’s championship semifinal is played on a Sunday, followed by Tuesday, for the finals.
Florida won the 2007 NCAA Men’s Division I Championship beating Ohio State 84-75 at Atlanta Georgia, whereas the 2007 NCAA Women’s Division I Championship went to Tennessee, who beat Rutgers, 59-46, in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Tickets
The easiest way to procure your college basketball tickets is through the services of legitimate ticket brokers.
Legitimate ticket brokers have a reputation to maintain and ensure your college basketball tickets for the games of your choice are delivered to your door.

How to Find the Best Discount Hotel New York City Has to Offer
When looking for a discount hotel, New York City offers almost too many choices. So how do you make the best decision when you have never been to the Big Apple and are unfamiliar with the city layout and the neighborhoods?
Well, there are two ways to approach this topic and I will cover both of them.
Location, Location, Location Some travel experts will tell you that location is everything and that you should chose an accommodation near the sights that you are interested in visiting. They state that you don't want to end up in a hotel across town from everything you want to do and see, because you will spend all of your time on foot and on the subway or hailing a cab.
So if this is your point of view, then the following information may help you.
If you want to be in the middle of the action, you should look for the most affordable discount hotel New York City (or Manhattan to be specific) supplies. There are hotels and hostels that offer great rates and amenities throughout this area. Deals are easy to spot (and are everywhere) on the internet.
Lower Manhattan: If you want a really low priced discount hotel New York City won't let you down for this location. You will also be near Soho, China Town, Little Italy, Wall Street, Battery Park, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and Wall Street.
Midtown Manhattan (East and West Side): The East Side of Midtown Manhattan would be a likely location for a higher priced accommodations, but don't despair a great discount hotel New York City supplies in this area is available as a hostel. If you love to shop or even window shop, this is the place for you. You can find high priced fashion and dining to match.
On the other hand, if you are interested in a more exciting night life and no sleep, try the West Side of Midtown Manhattan. Not only does it have Times Square and Broadway, it also has affordable lodging as well. If you like to walk on vacations, then this is the area for you because you can get nearly anywhere you want to go on foot.
Upper Manhattan (East and West Side): A hotel on the Upper East Side will cost you a pretty penny unless you search for a great discount hotel. New York City (fortunately) has them everywhere. This is the location of the City's finest museums. Central Park divides the East from the West and the farther you go west from the Park, the more affordable the discount hotel New York City provides.
Just a place to sleep Other travel experts will tell you that the deal is everything. Their philosophy is that only a few New York tourists spend a lot of time in their hotel rooms. This is specifically focused on those people who basically only use their hotel rooms to sleep, shower and change clothes in order to go out again.
They suggest that you then consider an accommodation that is slightly outside of the "hot spot" since transportation (fabulous subway system, taxis, private car, etc) is easily accessible and readily available most of the time 24/7. You can save a lot of money when you look for a discount hotel New York City offers in the less popular areas and uses any travel time as a sight-seeing adventure.
If you are more interested in saving money than being right in the middle of the action, keep in mind that between taxis, the subway and buses, you can get where ever you want to go in NYC. However, you will save the most money by avoiding taxis (expect late at night or for long trips). From the airport, you can take the Port Authority's Airport Express Buses (one-way costs about $12-$15 USD), it is a fast , cheap, reliable service to your hotel.
If you feel confident navigating a combination of buses and subways, you can go anywhere for just $2.00 USD by getting a MetroCard (it allows free transfers). If you plan to take 3 or more rides a day, then you should investigate all of the optional passes.
Also you should get a map of NYC, understand the basic layout of the city and the subway system BEFORE you go. With a little planning you can save a lot on your transportation costs while in the Bid Apple too.
So you might decide the location of your accommodation is the priority or you might lean toward saving money on your trip. Either way you decide to use to choose your discount hotel, New York City supplies you with a powerful tool. This helpful tool is the ratings and reviews (made by tourists) of any accommodation and absolutely should be used to guarantee a good night sleep regardless of what metropolitan district your accommodation is in.

The Beautiful Isle Of Lanai
It can be found in the centre of the Pacific Ocean just below the Tropic of Cancer and is the only Hawaiian Island from which five others can be viewed.
The island came into being when the volcano Palawai erupted one and a half million years ago. The Isle is therefore covered in spectacular red lava cliffs, sharp gorges, shady Cook pines and white beaches.
The Island is only about one hundred and forty square miles, thirteen miles wide and eighteen miles long, with a coastline that extends for forty seven miles. With regard to road networks, it is not expected that there is much more than thirty miles of road. The main city is Lanai City and is located in the middle, just north of the Lanai Airport, off Highway four hundred and forty Lanai supports a population of only about three thousand people.
Lanai Hawaii is accessible by air or ferry. Both Hawaiian Airlines and Island Air provide daily services between the little island and the gateway cities of the Western USA, with a complete cargo service. Alternatively a ferry runs between the island and Maui at least five times a day.
It is the ideal place to relax and to come and refresh the spirit. The beautiful Isle of Lanai, from the moment you set foot on her soil, envelops you in a warm welcome. It is a place of solitude and a place where people can get a chance to experience nature, the breathtaking views, the romantic sunsets and finally the mesmerizing star configurations that fill the tropical nights.
Residents are friendly, enjoying a social outdoor lifestyle that cannot be matched and this is magically framed by the beauty of the golden beaches and vibrant vegetation.
On this little island you will find little hustle and bustle, friendly and inviting dining and accommodation options and a relaxed nightlife. The island has remained an unspoiled oasis that has a characteristic small town feel, the only exceptions to this are the two luxury resorts that were recently developed
It was once the mere capital of pineapple production and now becoming an international tropical holiday destination. Lanais biggest selling point is that it is the perfect getaway location.
Even celebrities have succumbed to its rustic charm and brilliance, this is where billionaire Bill Gates had his wedding.
This island is honestly not short of things to do. Once you have experienced the sites why not some deep sea fishing, some horseback riding, whale watching do, play a couple rounds of golf on two professionally designed golf courses, or simply do nothing but put your feet up.

Siena Travel Essentials - Get to Know Siena
Siena Overview: Siena is a classic medieval hill town in Tuscany famous for its large fan-shaped piazza, (definition of piazza). Piazza del Campo is the heart of Siena and is the home of Siena's famous summer horse-race, known as Il Palio (see more about it in Siena Festivals below). Siena is one of Italy's prettiest medieval towns. Siena's peak was about 1260-1348 when it was one of Europe's wealthiest cities and many of its buildings and art works originate from that time.
Siena Location: Siena is 60km south of Florence near the center of the Tuscany region (Tuscany map). Between Siena and Florence lies the Chianti Wine Region. Siena is about 200 km north of Rome.
Siena Transportation: Siena is 2-3 hours from Rome by train and 3-4 hours from Milan. Both Rome and Milan have international airports serving the US and other cities in Europe. The smaller airports at Florence and Pisa are closer and serve other cities in Italy and Europe. You can reach Siena by train or bus from other cities in Tuscany. Buses take you into Siena's center. Siena's train station is outside the center and connected to central Siena by bus. There are parking lots on the main roads as you approach Siena's center that are served by shuttle bus. Some are within walking distance if you don't mind a long walk.
Siena Tourist Office: Siena's Tourist Office is at Piazza del Campo, 56. They have information and maps for Sienna and the countryside including the Chianti wine region.
Siena Festivals: Siena's most famous festival is Il Palio di Siena, a horse race run in Siena's Piazza del Campo. Siena is divided into 17 neighborhoods, or contrade, each with a rider. 10 contrade take part in the first race, July 2. The other 7 plus 3 from the July race compete August 16. Winning the palio is a huge honor and the race is highly competitive. There are other festivities around the days of the palio, too. The races are very crowded - you might be able to snag a standing place, reserved seats are usually sold out in advance. More on Il Palio di Siena.
Siena Hotels: Venere.com has more than 20 listings for hotels in Siena. I often use Venere to search for and book hotels. The hotel descriptions are good, there are user ratings, you can see the hotel location on a map, and making reservations on the site is easy.
Wine Tasting in Siena: Siena has an enoteca, or wine bar, in the ramparts of the 16th century fortress. The enoteca offers wine tastings, wine by the glass, and snacks. Enoteca Italiana is in Fortezza Medicea, via Camolia 72. It opens at noon, Monday-Saturday and is closed on Sundays.
Near Siena: The countryside outside of Siena is beautiful and unusual. You'll come across small villages, medieval hill towns, grape vines, and olive trees. The Crete Senese is the area of clay hills south of Sienna, a striking and barren landscape. North of Siena is the Chianti Classico wine region. If you want to go wine tasting, see our Tips on Visiting Chianti Wineries. La Certosa di Pontignano is a beautiful monastery outside Siena, now a university guest house.
Siena Attractions:
Piazza del Campo, also known as Il Campo, is the heart of Siena. Il Campo is paved with brick and ringed by cafes, restaurants, and historic buildings. Narrow medieval streets lead to the piazza, which has an unusual fan shape. Piazza del Campo was originally the Roman forum and later was Siena's main marketplace.
Palazzo Pubblico, Siena's Gothic town hall building, and the bell tower, Torre del Mangia, dominate Piazza del Campo. Torre del Mangia, 102 meters tall, is the second highest medieval bell tower in Italy. You can walk up the tower's 505 steps for some great views of Siena.
Fonte Gaia is an ornate fountain carved by Jacopo della Quercia in the fifteenth century. The one you see today is a 19th century copy. It sits at the north end of Il Campo.
Piazza del Duomo is another beautiful square and home to Siena's Duomo. The impressive Duomo has a black and white facade with intricate carvings and statues. The beautiful marble floor is decorated with a series of inlaid pictures. The Museo dell'Opera del Duomo has some beautiful art works. It's open daily, 9-1:30
Siena's art museum, Pinacoteca Nazionale, houses some of Italy's greatest paintings from the 13th and 14th centuries. The musuem opens daily at 8:15 but closes at 1:30 on Sundays and Mondays.
